20 years of animal welfare
The RSPCA has been lobbying for improvements to animal welfare law since we were created in 1824. The timeline below outlines key milestones and what the legislation means for animal welfare for every year from 1990 to 2010. Currently the only regulations included are those which apply to England. Welsh legislation will be added soon.
The RSPCA is always working to improve animal welfare law by working with and lobbying politicians and other decision makers in Westminster, the National Assembly for Wales, European Union and local government.
